"Gnat Rid" is a new high potency microbial larvicide for controlling scarid fly larvae.  Best of all its 100% organic and has no negative effect on your plants or nutrients.  The most important thing to remember when using this product is that it is a microbe based formula containing "Bacillus Thuringienis".

This microbe has been used for many years in numerous products for controlling Fungus Gnat larvae that feed on any decaying organic matter including your root zone.  This in turn exposes the plant to bacterial infections and viruses causing plant wilt, decreased yield and sometimes death.  Being a beneficial microbe based product it is important to use this as early in the growing cycle as possiblein order to build microbe populations and should be repeated every few weeks to keep populations up and active.

Bacillus Thuringienis colonizes your root zone and creates a toxin that prevents the Larvae from feeding resulting in death and eradicating the problem.

When using Gnat Rid do not use in conjunction with chemical sterilising agents and it is also good to use approximately two inches of Perlite in each pot on top of the medium to further deter adult fly from laying any more eggs.  Another good tip is to use an organic additive or fertiliser high in complex sugars providing more food for increased microbes.
